Solar Energy Incentives Program (rebate)
Florida businesses are eligible for a $4 per watt rebate (with a cap of $100,000) when they install a solar electric system at their business and for a rebate of $15/1,000 BTU of production (with a cap of $5,000) when they install a solar water heating system. Residential rebates for solar electric systems are $4/watt, with a cap of $20,000. Homeowners who install a solar water heater or solar pool heater also are eligible for rebates of $500 and $100 respectively. The rebate is available through the Governor's energy office. Check current funding levels to determine if funding is still available.

Solar Equipment Sales Tax Exemption
Solar equipment and its requisite hardware are exempt from Florida state sales and use tax. Labor is not taxable in Florida.

Renewable Energy Property Tax Exemption
Applicable for systems installed after January 1, 2009. This exemption is the amount of the original cost of the device, including the installation cost.
