Attracting and retaining loyal customers through environmentally-friendly business practices is as basic to business success today as the proverbial bottom line. How? The Florida Solar Energy Research and Education Foundation through the SunCatcher Program is offering restaurants, hotels and condominium associations a buy-down on the cost to install solar technologies. Distributions are in the form of a grant and they work like this:

1. Solar Water Heating $50/1,000 BTU $15,000 cap
2. Solar Pool Heating $2,500 Fixed $2,500/installation (for commercial-size system)
3. Photovoltaics $60/1,000 Watt $1,500 cap

Though only underway for a few months, the SunCatcher Program has approved commercial installations that will reduce Florida’s carbon footprint by more than 850 tons of CO a year.
